Unpopular Thomas Opinions

That actually makes sense.  Though if Jerome and Judy do end up appearing later on, I think that will be ok then.

1. I don't mind Misty Island. Sure, it's unnatural, but it was nice to see something off of Sodor for a change.
2. In all honesty, I was OK with Rheneas being yellow. It was nice to see him in a different colour for a change.
3. Like I said on the first page of this thread, I love all episodes from Seasons 1-12 equally despite any of the flaws they have. I only like a few episodes from Seasons 13-16 and I like almost all the episodes from Seasons 17 onwards.
4. I didn't really mind that the show switched to CGi. The models had their fun and the last season they were featured in ended with a nice episode.

I like Misty Island. No, no, let me explain first!

Misty Island has beautiful scenery. I mean:

Also, unlike most recent locations, Misty Island has a clear purpose: logging. There is lots of potential for good stories about logging. If the tunnel were replaced with a floating bridge (to Brendam Docks, say) or better yet, railway barges, there would be no problems at all.

I see. It does look beautiful. Even with Gordon in the shot.

I get there is potential for logging, but honestly I think that'll only work if the island and the Logging Locos are changed.

I also don't get why people complain about Rheneas' yellow livery. Not only is it cool to see Rheneas in a different color, it also gives a nice conclusion to his subplot in the movie.

Yes, I can see it that way.  Somehow rework misty island, and I can see it having potential actually

I suppose maybe Rheneas' yellow paint was meant to be an undercoat, but then again, his lining and everything was present. I don't mind that much either way.

Here are some opinions of mine.

I would rather watch Seasons 17+ to every season up to Season 16
I actually prefer Sir Handel's Season 10 personality over his Season 4 personality
I find Bertram overhated by fans
Samson Sent for Scrap wasn't that bad in my opinion

Bertram is definitely over-hated. A character that only appears for 5 seconds is a blank slate, which means they have potential. Also the 're-paint' argument is pointless because there are many engines on the Ffestinogg Railway that resemble Duke. Just because they are made for merchandise, doesn't make them a horrifically bad character.

I dislike Emily.

Her personality seems so bland, compared to a newer female such as Rosie.

I'm with you there; if you look at the last couple pages or so, I describe exactly why I don't like her.

I would repost the points here, but I think we (the forum) may have already discussed them.

While I did say Ivo Hugh is my least favourite RWS character, I don't hate him. I see potential in him. If he ever appears in the TV series, the team can give him a personality and make him do something.

I don't think magic is what people liked about Lady. I think people liked her because of her unique design and paintwork.

The only way Smudger could return apart from flashback is if anyone finds any of Smudger's remains of what's left of the Mid-Sodor railway, they could take the parts to the Steamworks, take Rheneas to the steamworks and restore Smudger from scratch.

I think the reason Oliver's render is so small is because Arc probably looked at his ERTL model.

I was OK with Flying Scotsman and CoT not making proper appearances in the TV series. Britt may have turned them into Sodor engines like Stepney. I'm okay with Stepney being a Sodor engine in the TV series (as I said earlier), I just pretend he's not the real Stepney.

I don't really understand how an engine who likes to help is bland compared to...a pink tank engine who followed Thomas around because she adores him...basically a Disney character on wheels.

I would say Emily has more personality than Rosie. I like both characters, but Emily is like a big sister to the other engines. Giving out advice, defending the tank engines, and thinking about situations logically. That is more than what Rosie has. Rosie has a lot of potential as she is almost a blank slate (I don't mind her pink livery though.)

I'm not too sure that Rosie's livery is pink. It sure looks purple to me. Then again, it does look a light pinkish purple.

Another unpopular opinion:

I am okay with Molly being canary yellow. If she were green or blue, she'd look as uninteresting as Rosie would look in an authentic livery.

I completely agree. But I really do hope Rosie gets some more spotlight instead of being stuck in Cameo Land cx

Me too. My big wish for both Stanley and Belle to both speak again has come true, and now my other big wish for Rosie to speak again is all I want.

I think Rosie's livery is described as lavender.

I like Molly's livery as well; it is bright and striking. She would sell a lot of merchandise if she returned.

Personally, I don't mind the liveries. As engine models, they are actually quite interesting.

As for Emily, I don't really see her as "big sister"character. She's more stubborn, rude and arrogant, and episodes such as Emily knows Best, Emily's rubbish, Excellent Emily and Pingy Pongy Pick Up only remind me of those traits.

Emily was stubborn and arrogant during Seasons 8-12, I agree, but Season 7 and Season 17-onwards show her to be more of a big sister figure. I can see why fans might still not like her though, her personality during the New Series was terrible.

Anywho, more opinions from me:

1. I really like Tale of the Brave, but it's also highly overrated. I prefer Blue Mountain Mystery and King of the Railway more.
2. I neither like nor hate Duck. In all honesty, I don't have a solid opinion on him.
3. Not Now Charlie! did little to redeem Charlie in my eyes. That and the episode was just boring. I genuinely prefer Steamie Stafford more.
4. I don't like Let's Be Brave at all. It sounded like your typical generic pop song, and it didn't fit in with Tale of the Brave at all.

I'll agree, not now Charlie did redeem the character a bit, but he still has a ways to go before I can like him.

Wonder what'll happen later this season?

We'll just have to find out, won't we? Maybe they'll fully redeem Charlie.
