Unpopular Thomas Opinions

More opinions from me:

1. Percy's original UK voice has always been terrible to me. It's too high-pitched and squeaky and sounded too similar to James. Now that he's been recast, James is starting to sound more and more like his old voice.
2. Both of Henry's voices aren't any good, but I prefer his US voice more because Kerry Shale actually makes him sound scared. Keith Wickham's voice is alright for Henry's old personality, but for his new one, it doesn't suit him at all.
3. 'Arry and Bert's Season 5 personalities are better than their Season 6-onwards personalities.

I've never ever found [most of] the CGI voices fitting in any way. They never sounded right in my opinion.

Unpopular opinions:

1. I really like Percy's new voice; it makes him sound unique and in all honesty it sounds like he's matured a bit.
2. I think Henry in both dubs needs to be recast. As much as emotionally better Kerry Shale is, he still sounds like a whiny engine.
3. I don't get how returnees are "overdue". Is it really wise to throw in 10 returnees in a season? Half of them won't get any screentime.
4. I like Flynn's S17+ persona. His fear in S17 felt justifiable and since then he's been portrayed as a real hero. The only problem is that he hasn't really appeared enough. The same could be said for much of the Rescue Team to be honest.
5. I don't see the point in bringing Bulstrode back because A) He's probably just rust by now and B) it's just why? I get we need more boat characters but with Skiff being introduced and Captain seemingly doing more (ish) the watercraft are starting to be recognized.

I wouldn't really care if Bulstrode returns or not. Just not make him friendly like they did to Bulgy.

More Unpopular Opinions

1. I don't really like the lighting used in Season 2 and the lighting would of looked better if Season 2 used the lighting from Season 3.
2. I prefer the design and layout of Knapford Station from the first four seasons over TATMR onward.
3. I prefer the brick structure shed at Tidmouth Sheds from Seasons 3-5 over the goods/repair shed from Seasons 1-2 and TATMR onward.
4. I prefer Tidmouth Sheds being shorter like in the first five seasons rather then being taller like in TATMR onward and I prefer the track layout of Tidmouth Sheds from Seasons 2-4.
5. I never minded Bulgy appearing in Season 7 but I didn't like how they made him friendly and turned him into a vegetable bus.
6. I wouldn't really care if characters like Charlie, Rosie, Whiff, Scruff and Flynn.etc were to leave the TV Series or not.
7. I consider the Knapford shunting yards from Seasons 2 and 3 to be different yards.
8. I think it was a waste of money for Hit to introduce characters that would only appear once or twice and then leave the show shortly after.

Why do you consider the yards different?

Because yards don't dramatically change like that. Both have very different track layout and different industrial surroundings.

Unpopular Opinions:
1. I like Season 5.
2. I really don't care about the countryside scenes. Do we need more variety? Maybe but it's not that worth it.
3. I don't think the yards are different.

Season 5 was decent but still had some flaws.
I think we need more of a variety like in Seasons 1-4.
Can you explain how the yards aren't different? The yards from Season 3 could just be somewhere else around Knapford.

Seriously, S1-4 didn't have that much variety. Imagine if we just saw those same three sets over and over. It'd get old fast.

And last time I checked, S1-2 had quite a few countryside scenes.

The ones from the new series seem to got old fast for some. Seasons 3-4 had plenty of sets.

That doesn't mean it's the same thing for everyone. And sure, the New Series maybe but the CGI Series? We're seeing less and less countryside anyway; they usually last about two seconds now.

I now find that sexy song that ThomasSirHandel hates more memorable than [most of] the songs from Thomas & Friends.

I agree with you here as well. Sodor is supposed to be like that anyway with many forests. Most maps describe Sodor with much of it being the wilderness. I am not sure why so many fans are annoyed by it either. Also, seeing less countryside does not bother me either.

Maybe the countryside scenes are more of a nostalgic thing and the fans who don't like the generic Season 8 onward ones are more use to the ones from Seasons 1-4. Probably the same reason of why some prefer the models from Seasons 3-4 over the ones from Seasons 6-12.

1. I don't think the TV Series was ready yet for 8 minute episodes in Season 8, nor a new theme song or music.
2. I don't think the TV Series was ready for CGI in Season 13 and could of waited tell Season 17.
3. Most of Season 8 was boring for me.
4. Seasons 3-4 are great (only saying this because of the Allcroft haters and Rusty to the Rescue was just a bad episode and Henry's driver could of alerted the signal man off screen in Henry's Forest).
5. Diesel Does it Again, The Trouble with Mud, Thomas and Stepney and Mind That Bike were good episodes.
6. I don't mind Henry and the Elephant, Toad Stands By, Bulls Eyes and Paint Pots and Queens being out of place.

To be honest, I think the 8 minutes thing was fine. Same thing with CGI; then again they could've used much more characters if they stuck with the models for a while...

Yeah that's the reason why I think they could of waited until Season 17 for CGI. More fan favorite characters would of been able to been used in Seasons 13-16. Also Misty Island probably would of been too expensive to do with models so it probably wouldn't exist and fans would of been able to warm up with CGI more easily as Arc seems to be more popular then nitrogen for most fans.

I'll agree to that point; comparing the two Arc has the higher quality animation than Nitrogen

I actually liked the cconcept of Season 12, that is, the whole mixing CGI and models together. I just wish they kept going on with it so it would've improved. The CGI in season 12 is of noticebly less quality than the full CGI seasons so if they combined that quality of CGI with the models I think it would've looked great. Of course, I still think the the writing was a bunch of bad coal so if they fixed that too.
