I really hope that his son or someone gets to writing more. Actually, if copyrights weren't in the picture, I think some of the online stories by non-Awdrys would work. Just my opinion.

Yeah, I know. If no one was going to do it, I'd gladly step in.

Personally, I'd like to see bear again; after so many years being forgotten he deserves some time in the spotlight.

And he's not even featured in some of the stories in those two books

Another idea: have Donald and Douglas get a visit from the Caledonian 812 of the Strathspey railway, their only surviving brother in real life.

I hear that Talyllyn and Dolgoch will be turning 150 in a couple years; would've been a nice opportunity for another railway series book about the narrow gauge railway

If someone decides to write they should do books about the little western, Skarloey Railway and Edward's branch. Oliver, Toad, Bill, Ben and Duke rarely appeared in the Railway Series.

Great ideas; I wouldn't mind another Culdee Fell book myself though.

I feel there may be another book.

However, there is one thing that is certain, regardless of the continuation of the series.

The Steam Engines will remain. They have bested the Diesels.

If (a very big "if") we get another book, I'd like to see how the NWR fleet responds to electric engines. In a lot of places, they are replacing diesels, and it would be interesting to see the NWR confront one. Developing the little-used branch lines would also be interesting, and perhaps a book or two on the Mid Sodor.

Well, that would kill two birds with one stone Razz

The biggest problem with the RWS continuing is TVS. The publishers want more Thomas, which would limit what could be written.

What a shame; if only they would realize there is more to Sodor than Thomas

I am sure the publishers at Egmont are aware of Sodor's vast potential for non-Thomas stories. They are also aware that Thomas-centered stories are easier to sell these days.

I hope if they make another, it would be on the Culdee Fell Railway. I've come up with a bunch of ideas for stories!!

Well, once I finish my first story in my story thread, Sudrian Railway Engines, I'm planning a book for the Culdee Fell Engines.

Is it inspired by the railway series more so than the TV series?

Yes. When I write books, they are going to be like the RS, but I may take some episodes and make a book out of them.

Well, good luck with that book... I look forward to seeing what you come up with

(And be fair to Shane Dooiney, please let him have an appearance. That would be my only suggestion)

Oh, yes, I will. If not in the first one, I'll certainly mention him, and he'll eventually get a book all to himself about how he comes back to the Culdee Fell Railway.
