Christopher Awdry's Railway Series Books Discussion
Here we can discuss the Railway Series as continued by Christopher Awdry!
Re: Christopher Awdry's Railway Series Books Discussion
Are these still being published? Amazon UK says either no stock (but if you order we'll deliver when there is stock) or it just says no stock.
I still have quite a few to read.

They are still in print from what I know. Many railways in the UK sell them from my knowledge.

Yes. Even the Bluebell Railway and Thomas Land Shop in Drayton Manor have about all the copies of these books available to buy for a reasonable price.

I just wish they would make a cheaper collection with all the books included.
Re: Christopher Awdry's Railway Series Books Discussion
I got bored a couple of weeks ago so I decided to email Egmont about a couple of things. The reply was informative, but disappointing.
Good afternoon
Thank you for your enquiry and interest in Thomas the Tank Engine. My apologies for the delayed response.
We are publishing a number of titles this year to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the much-loved Railway Series by Reverend Awdry and plan to reissue more of this classic series with new covers in the future. We have no current plans to reissue the New Collection (books 27-42) by Christopher Awdry or The Island of Sodor: It's People, History and Railways. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
This year we are reissuing the first five books in the series: The Three Railway Engines (9781405276498), Thomas the Tank Engine (9781405276511), James the Red Engine (9781405276504), Tank Engine Thomas Again (9781405276528) and Troublesome Engines (9781405276535). We have also published a reissued box set of the whole of Reverend Awdry’s Railway series (9781405276085), and reissued the slipcase edition (9781405275576).
Thank you again for your email.

That's a shame... Maybe they'll be inclined to do so in future!
Re: Christopher Awdry's Railway Series Books Discussion
That would be nice... I'd love to get a copy of one of those books that expand on Sodor's history myself. I hear they are very expensive and out of print though

That's really a shame. I hope they change their minds.

Indeed. It's a shame really; revered awdry and his brother e beloved such an elaborate history for the island, and the TV show did not even bother to look to it for inspiration.

I really want to see the books in one book again, for a lot less money. I wish they would change their minds!
Re: Christopher Awdry's Railway Series Books Discussion
I hope that just like the Rev. W. Awdry's stories, I really hope they make a complete collection of Christopher Awdry's in the future. I know they compiled one before but it was a while ago and there are no more available anywhere I've been looking haha. So I hope they consider making another one for everyone who wasn't able to get one before or make the previous one available again. I would love to buy it.

And that would include the 42nd.

The one thing I think is interesting to note, is that Egmont not wanting to rerelease Christopher Awdry's book is only hurting themselves – there are thousands of fans out there who would love to buy them, especially in one big book.
Re: Christopher Awdry's Railway Series Books Discussion
Indeed; I would love to have Christopher's books alongside his father's

Re: Christopher Awdry's Railway Series Books Discussion
Hey guys, I was curious, I am considering selling my Complete New Collection book by Christopher Awdry. I was wondering would $100AU be too rich to sell on eBay or to someone? Considering the book is very rare to find and it is in good condition. The seller I bought from also listed the book for $90, so thought I'd get some opinions.

My opinion - you don't know how luck you are.vinnyvincevvs5 wrote:Hey guys, I was curious, I am considering selling my Complete New Collection book by Christopher Awdry. Seriously though, $100 doesn't sound too extreme, considering most sell it for about $200. Yeah, go for it!
Re: Christopher Awdry's Railway Series Books Discussion
Thanks for your insight. Just posted the listing. If anyone would like to purchase the book (in AUS only) please check out that listing.
Re: Christopher Awdry's Railway Series Books Discussion
I'm afraid I live in the US so I cannot buy it; best of luck on your sale!
