I have some more.

*I like Bill and Ben's red wheels.

*I'm fine with Flying Scotsman having only 6 wheels on each of his tenders.

*The Great Race is the weakest Brenner-era special to date. Why is because it had wasted potential in everyone but Ashima.

*This one is an extremely unpopular one. The more I watch The Adventure Begins, the less I enjoy it.

I agree with all of those except the TAB one. I'm still bummed Bill and Ben have never gone up to anyone and said, "It is us, Bill and Ben! You probably didn't recognize us because of the red wheels!" Anyone?

The blue mountain quarry is overused.

I prefer Alec Baldwin's narration to every other one.
I didn't bother to watch Season 19.

I don't have many unpopular opinions that I can think of - other than the fact that TATMRR is the greatest movie of all time and is perfect even without the Director's Cut - but I just thought of a couple. For starters, I'm fine with the Logging Locos. They're not the best, but at least they mean well. (Of course, I haven't seen MIR, so that might be why.

Also, don't know if this in unpopular or not, but I don't really like how Blue Mountain Quarry looks. It's a bit bland, in my opinion, considering the quarry of Season 5.

But what does Magic Railroad have going for it? I gotta agree with a lot of the reviewers; once Boomer was cut, the plot was pretty weak, but I can't blame the production crew; I blame the soccer moms.

What did they do? It was the audience in the test screening who said it was too scary. Who said the 'soccer moms' were there? Maybe it was the kids who genuinely said that P.T. Boomer was too frickin' scary.

By soccer moms he means the test audiences who thought it would be too scary for their kids.

But from everything I've read it sounds like the kids themselves thought it was too scary.

I haven't heard anything where the kids thought Sailor John was scary...

And how is Sailor John different than Boomer? SiF actually did a blog post on that.

Either way, most sources I've seen has said something along the lines of "Test audiences thought he was too scary for kids." Why a would a kid say he was too scary for kids? The war it seems, it was people like parents and teachers and such, but I can't really say for sure.

The good news though, is that if restore the magic succeeds, we will get the the movie Britt Allcroft wanted us to see, versus the result we got in the end.

And honestly, I hope we do get the restored movie; it would be a fine way to honor the recently departed Doug Lennox

The thing is, the way I see it, the biggest things that people didn't like about the movie would still be there in the original script. It's still got magic, Americanization, Alec Baldwin, etc. Granted, it would be far better in terms of cinematic quality, but it still just wouldn't fit into the canon. One of the modelers (I forget who) said in a SiF interview that Lady isn't even real.

That's why I consider Thomas and the Magic Railroad standalone; it's own canon based on Thomas, but not necessarily the main canon

If you're on SiF, you'll know that they're looking into the script, and thinking about looking into getting it released. Sam Wilkinson (@railwayconsultant) posted about that some time ago, but said that it will need a good deal of work first.

What about the script needs work? Towards the legal rights or publishing it?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't recall if the footage and audio still even exist. They could very well have been destroyed after the P.T. Boomer version of the chase scene was found. Therefore, I don't think Restore the Magic will ever lead to the expected results.

I hate when they change engine's whistles.

Oh yeah. Blue Mountain Mystery felt cringey in a way. I know they made the whistles more realistic but they still sounded weird.

I really liked Pierce Brosnan's narration in The Great Discovery. However, I am glad he didn't keep narrating. He made a good guest narrator, though. I think his voice sounds very storybook-like, which was the whole purpose of just having a single narrator in the first place.

I think Pierce would work well if they wanted to re-narrate the model series, but I don't see (hear?) him narrating in CGI.
