Also they could recreate Stepney the Bluebell Engine as a special like TAB.
I'd enjoy seeing the scrapyard scenes.

Re: Stories That Could of Been Adapted in the TV Series
Okay, I've looked through this entire thread, and I've made a list of the stories that have been mentioned the most. So, these are the Top 10 Stories That Should Have Been Adapted For The TV Series.
10. [BOOK] Thomas and Victoria
This book is one of the most underrated in the entire Railway Series, but it looks like it would've worked for episodes. It would be nice to see Victoria.
9. [BOOK] Wilbert The Forest Engine
Wilbert really needs to be introduced. He's a nice engine, and since every single story in this book has something wrong happen, it would appeal to many boys. ( ) Also, it would be nice to see Sixteen.
8. [BOOK] Small Railway Engines
With the Arlesdale Engines being introduced in SLOTLT, this book being adapted doesn't look far-fetched. Everything here looks great, although Ballast probably won't be adapted due to SLOTLT.
7. Stop Thief!
I never thought of this story being adapted, but it could work. Plus, it would teach kids that stealing is a crime.
6. [BOOK] Mountain Engines
Christopher Awdry has stated that with all the safety precautions, there wouldn't be too many ideas for stories; thus, they'd only be in a few episodes. However, they did this with many, many other characters, so even four episodes would work quite well.
5. Triple Header
With Duck having returned, it looks like this episode could work quite well. It would also be funny, and I think that many would enjoy it.
4. Gordon Goes Foreign
If the writers don't want to mention London, they could just call it The Big City. It being skipped over is almost mean, and it would work very well.
3. [BOOK] Thomas and the Great Railway Show
Apparently, for an underrated book, lots of people want to see it. It would be quite interesting, and they could probably work Flying Scotsman, Stepney, and City of Truro into it, too.
2. The Missing Coach
This episode shouldn't have been cancelled. It keeps many fans longing for it. If they could find the original tapes, and use them for a flashback, it might be interesting. CGI and models: now that's something!
1. Super Rescue
I don't really have to say anything. Everyone votes for it.
This list was compiled thanks to YOU. This is not my personal opinion.

They did do a Mr. Perkins segment with Gordon Goes Foreign though; maybe that is a sign of future interest?

Me neither, but they have a big opportunity to adapt the remaining RWS stories

What they really could have done was Gordon goes Foreign. It would have given shine to Gordon (who at that point was kind of aggresive neutral) and replaced awful Henry's Forest.

What was wrong with Henry's Forest? I've never really understood all the hate the episode gets. And Gordon Goes Foreign was going to be an episode, but they dropped it due to the high budget.

I think it was about the forest being too close to the line, and Henry not telling the signalman he was going to the forest.
Re: Stories That Could of Been Adapted in the TV Series
I like to think that he alerted the signalman off-screen

Being honest I think Henry's Forest works fine; okay, it wouldn't work that great as a Railway Series story but it works fine for the show.

Henry's Forest was a good episode. It's 1,000's of times better then awful Seasons 8-16. But I do wish Super Rescue and Gordon Goes Foreign were adapted around Seasons 3-4.

I think they could have repainted Class 40 for D199, and made a long term model for Bear. That would mean Season 5 could have more variety and possibly a slightly smaller budget, replacing Stepney gets lost for example (lack of arry and Bert) with an episode for Bear.

I think Super Rescue would of worked better in Season 3 if they had a bigger budget.

Oh come on! That's their excuse for everything! They blow up every single thing in Season 5 and BOOM (no pun intended) no more money for a Bertrum model. Scrap Duke! Never seen again!
Would you rather:
Duke (and Bertrum) for more seasons
or
No explosions in season 5

I wonder why they wanted so many crashes and explosions in Season 5.

It's not that bad of a choice; it was just a darker turn the series wanted to take.

Aside from Rusty and the Boulder, what other times was stuff being shown blown up in Season 5? I saw more explosions in SLOTLT then I did in Season 5. And the show was still in its early years, it didn't have as big of a budget as it does now.

That's actually a fair point. A lot of crashes in season five, but only Rusty and the Boulder had explosions

Plus, imagine if Duke got worse as time went on, like Skarloey and Rheneas.

But then be fixed in S17.
And by explosions I mean destroying a model or set, like Haunted Henry or A better view 4 Gordon

Except how do you know Duke's money went into the "destruction"?
