Unpopular Thomas Opinions

Maybe before Season 18 she was like those Tugs characters who don't have faces but are still sentient.

As I recall, Henrietta did speak a couple times in season 2, so that would sound plausible.

So back to the topic, my unpopular Thomas opinion:

The scene in SLOTLT where Thomas falls into the cavern- as great as the animation was, it really broke my suspension of disbelief

Yeah, me too... if he'd just fallen in and slid a little, I could buy it, but he spent about a minute just sliding through on top of the flatcars.

I kinda liked it, actually. It made the scene a bit more thrilling.

Here's are two more:

1. The Skarloey Railway not appearing in Season 19 doesn't bother me
2. I think the Sodor Airport should be used more in the series
3. I didn't like the Great Discovery that much

I agree with the second one. It needs to be reintroduced, along with Jeremy.

1. I prefer the apple green color from Seasons 3-5 for the light green engines and the scarlet red color from Seasons 3-5 for the red engines.
2. I hate when the Skarloey Railway is absent in seasons after Season 4.
3. I prefer the Classic series whistles and horns for the Skarloey Railway engines.
4. The Skarloey Railway engines look boring in all the same livery like the RWS and the multi TV Series colors gives them more of a variety.
5. I think it was pointless to repaint Henry blue for a few stories from the RWS and I'm glad the TV Series left Henry green.

1) So do I, even though the new ones are more prototypical. I also think their voices were more pleasant when they talked like all the others instead of having Welsh accents (beh).
2) Not only that, but more importantly, it makes it more difficult to tell which is which (Skarloey and Sir Handel don't really look too different to each other, for instance).
3) He does look better in green. It looks more GWR/GNR/LNER.

1. I prefer Thomas episodes being 4:30 minutes long rather then 7 or 8 minutes long. They could just put 4 episodes in one show for the half hour block. It would also be faster when watching a bad episode.
2. I prefer the Tidmouth Sheds layout from Seasons 3-4 with the brown brick shed and red turntable with the iron bars over the TATMRR-current layout.
3. I prefer Thomas and James arriving in 1945 rather then 1915 or 1923.

The fact you and I have so many shared opinions is nothing short of a miracle. In fact, when I dub one of the 4:30 minute episodes, the script usually takes up only one page in OpenOffice Writer, which makes these episodes easier for me.

I wish words like "stupid", "shut up", "idiot" or "Jerk" were still used in the show.

"Idiot" and "jerk" in TTTE? I don't recall an episode where "jerk" was used in that context. Neither an episode where someone said "idiot".

I think Thomas, Percy and Toby should of remained at Ffarquhar Sheds (but would only be based at Ffarquhar Station) with Edward, Henry, Gordon, James, BoCo and Bear remaining at Tidmouth Sheds.

1. Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure should've taken place before Season 19.
2. Hector should return in Season 20.
3. It was a great idea to give Thomas and Friends more action.
4. I like Oliver over Duck.
5. I like Tale of the Brave over The Adventure Begins.
6. I like the idea of having the last 6 episodes for Seasons 11, 17, 18, and possibly 19 released on DVD as well as introducing a new character on each DVD and have him or her star in at least one episode.

1. I don't think new characters should be introduced in seasons but only in specials.
2. The island feels cramped with so many new engines introduced after Season 7.
3. I don't think episodes need to be action packed and action packed only works for specials.

I actually like Emily.
Annie and Clarabel's voice actor is terrible.
I don't really like Thomas all that much- except for when he leads an episode or special, he's a really boring character.

1. I'm not crazy about Gordon's streamlining

2. I like the songs, but I don't like how the engines sing them now.

(However, I did like it when Paxton said "are you singing Diesel?")

1. I wish they kept Elsbridge instead of introducing Maithwaite. I just feel like Maithwaite replaced Elsbridge by appearances in Season 5 and I prefer Elsbridge over Maithwaite.
2. I wish there wasn't so many pointless locations like balloon factories or Whistling Woods.
3. I hate how they brought back Toby's old branch line in Season 5 when it's suppose to be deceased.
4. I prefer Knapford Harbour (Season 3 layout) over Brendam Docks and I find it annoying when bigger engines go to Brendam.
5. I prefer the Knapford Station Seasons 3-4 design and layout over the one from TATMRR onward and I wish Knapford appeared in Season 5.
6. I hate the design of Tidmouth Sheds from TATMRR onward. It looks too tall.

1. I don't mind Thomas appearing in every episode in Season 19, as his roles felt less pointless.
2. Belle was my favorite character introduced in the Miller era.
3. Stanley needs his own episode.
4. Smudger is way too overrated.
5. It wouldn't be bad if the Logging Locos returned, but only if Andrew Brenner fixes them up as better characters.

I would not mind if Duke didn't return to the TV series..

I like Duke, but I would rather see other characters haha.

I liked Edward Strikes Out when I first watched (so when I was 5). But now, I don't. I hate that episode.

Other than that, I like Alec Baldwin Narrating, and that's the only unpopular opinions that I can think of.

I prefer Toad being Oliver's brakevan instead of Douglas's.

I've noticed some of the things you have posted ThomasSirHandel, are not necessarily unpopular. I've heard many say some of these things and for that last one, you either prefer Toad with Oliver, Toad with Douglas, or are indifferent. I've never seen one preference largely centered. Unpopular is really an odd preference you prefer that you've barely heard anyone else say, such as how I don't like Season 2 that much at all.

I don't mind there being a "Steam Team." In fact, I don't even mind Emily supposedly having replaced Duck in that role.

Either Toby needs to be removed from the Steam Team, or get a lot more screen time.

I like Bill and Ben's red wheels.

I don't mind Henry's worrywart personality, although I really don't like how much of a blatant coward he's been in Lost Treasure in Season 19.

I like Jack's new design FAR more than his old one (not sure how unpopular of an opinion that is). I also like how he's been made a lot smaller.

I prefer Martin Sherman as Thomas over Joseph May. However, I do like Christopher Ragland as Percy over Sherman, as well as John Hasler over Ben Small.

I wish at least some of the international engines from The Great Race could appear again, namely Ashima, Vinnie, Etienne, and Yong Bao.

I wish Mike and Bert had their voices switched.

I really don't like Keith Wickham as Sir Handel and Norman.

I wish they'd gotten some TUGS voice actors to voice some characters in the CGI Series.

I don't mind Charlie all that much.

I like how the Steamworks was used in The Adventure Begins. I don't, however, like how the 7-Berth sheds and Henry's new shape was used.

I like the idea of the Search and Rescue Centre. If only they'd use it right.

I have a weird obsession with Dennis. He's one of my top choices for returning characters. There's a lot that can be done with him, especially with Norman as his twin!

I'm glad the Railway Series ended when it did.

I personally believe the current series takes place in the early/mid 1970's.

I wish the Pack series had gone on longer.

As much as I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the Vicarstown CGI render, part of me wishes it was just a teeny bit more Railway Series accurate. I won't complain too much. It's still pretty friggin' awesome!

Because TAB was a 45-minute special, I don't really compare it to SLOTLT. However, I do think they are amazing just like most of everyone else.
