Character discussion: Percy
I started this discussion out of curiosity. I want to see what others think of the junior Steam Team member. Percy was personally one of my favorites, but any opinion is welcome (That's what a discussion is for, after all).

Re: Character discussion: Percy
I still remember when I didn't know how to pronounce the 'C' in his name, so it sounded like "PerKy" whenever I said it (until I was corrected [I hadn't seen the show at the time]), kinda like Percy himself. I can only assume that was because 'C' looks like a reversed 'Kāf' (כ), or because I was used to the hard 'C'. I also thought he was female, and I'm actually not the only one.
IMO, the fact that they changed him to depict the "curious young child that asks questions about everything" in Season 6 is a very poor look for a character that should be experienced (and that was under the Britt Allcroft Company).

Yeah, I was never fond of how they changed Percy to be younger in later seasons.

More recently, I have grown more fond of Percy. I've come to really like him!

Re: Character discussion: Percy
I see Percy got out of the habit on "What's this word mean?" in later CGI seasons. He's still young, but he was always young, anyways, so...
EDIT: This discussion is as broken down as Norman.

Re: Character discussion: Percy
One of my problems with Percy was just how dumb he was portrayed during the dark era.
Apparently, he knew no big words and he had a very poor memory.
Percy isn't supposed to be "Dumb" or "clueless" he's supposed to be "cheeky" like Thomas, just in a slightly different way

That's true, but I also didn't watch any of the CGI episodes when I was a kid (because they weren't around at that time).

I'm glad he's out of that habit as well; he's supposed to be cheeky, not dumb

It's the part where he says "And then there was trouble."

He certainly sounded and looked cheeky.

Re: Character discussion: Percy
He would probably sound like a bizarre cross between Timmy Turner and Bubbles.
