Does anyone else find it amazing how reverend Awdry was able to release one book a year for so many years; and he only stopped when he ran out of ideas

Re: Rev. W. Awdry's Railway Series Books Discussion
I do. I can make stories using Wooden Railway trains, but when I sit down to try to write them, I have good ideas, but am not very patient. Writing seems to take forever!!
Re: Rev. W. Awdry's Railway Series Books Discussion
That's just it; writing is a game of patience; just give yourself some time and the stories will flow naturally

Yeah.
The one thing I wish is that the Culdee Fell Railway would have more books.

I agree. The characters have a lot of potiential for development and it would have been great to have more Mountain Railway illustrations.

Well, the thing is reverend Awdry himself admitted he couldn't think of too many stories involving them, so that is why we only have the one book with four stories.

Yeah, I know. But if they introduce some diesels, we might get some good stories.

I have a special edition book of the railway series. It's one book, with all 26 volumes. The binding is breaking after all these years, but there is no way I'm throwing it out.

Mines got a lot of tape on it; I wonder if at this point it's the only thing keeping the book together

Luckily there's a ton of pages between the actual stories and the cover, so i wouldn't imagine the stories deteriorating anytime soon.

So does anyone think more Culdee Fell stories are possible?

Yes. There is plenty of material from Snowdon Mountain Railway and other mountain railways over the world. More Culdee Fell is indeed possible.
Re: Rev. W. Awdry's Railway Series Books Discussion
Yeah. EE93 is doing a nice thing with them right now ("Culdee Fell" is airing right now...)

Ah, that reminds me! I have yet to watch it. Thanks, luc!
But even so, there is plenty of stuff to make a new Culdee Fell book.

Only 2 parts out yet, but on the 2 to 4th he'll release the full thing.

Hopefully, with the 17th Season of the TV Series now airing in Israel, The Railway Series would have a higher chance to be translated into Hebrew.

I hope that happens; after being forced to deal with the Miller era, it's about time the "good" Thomas and Friends get a chance to shine over there.

I have Avirama Golan's version of Winnie the Pooh, and she did an amazing job translating it. I even imagined myself working with her on translating (Wilbert's) Railway Series books, and having Machbarot Lesifrut publish them.

Don't we all imagine ourselves actually working on Thomas officially?

Re: Rev. W. Awdry's Railway Series Books Discussion
I'm no good with computer modelling; but I wouldn't mind writing some stories.
(I'd love to see someone adapt my Thomas and the Tugs story, that would be awesome.)
But more relevant to this thread, overall, the Reverend Awdry did an incredible job, not just with 26 books, but quite literally creating an expanded universe around said books.

I really like Gordon the Big Engine, and probably, Duck and The Diesel Engine. Those are my top 2, but I like them both the same.

Don't really have a "favorite" out of the 26, but I do have to agree, Duck and the Diesel engine was a great book, and had one of the best story arcs of the RWS.
