Re: Earliest Thomas Memories
I was born during the time Thomas was still waiting for Series 3 to come. I vaguley remember my mother on ITV when Series 3 had started airing A Scarf for Percy. I was hooked on it and A Scarf for Percy was my first episode. The rest of Series 3 was my first 26 episodes. Then I got an ertl Thomas (which I still have) and that was my earliest Thomas memories.

My earliest is getting scared of Diesel 10. . And, the irony, my first Thomas train was a Take-Along Diesel 10.

I don't think I was ever scared of Diesel 10, but I know my brother was! He was a great villain!
Re: Earliest Thomas Memories
I was never scared of D10, and I think I remember the first VHS I got, it was Thomas and the special letter and other stories, containing my 2 favorite episodes, Toad stands by, and Bowled out, and my 2 favorite characters, Stepney and Oliver, and I think I like those episodes and characters because of those being some of my first memories.

I remember watching "Troublsome Trucks" on the "James Learn a Lesson and Other Stories" on VHS.

Speaking of James Learns a Lesson and Other Stories, I remember getting that VHS in my Easter basket when I was about three years old, at my grandmothers house!
Re: Earliest Thomas Memories
When I was 4 I got the book "The Monster Under the Shed" around Easter Time. We were flying down to Florida to see relatives for Easter and I think the book was supposed to be an Easter gift, but my mom gave it to me early so I'd be entertained on the plane. I was so excited to get that book!

Re: Earliest Thomas Memories
When I was little I always loved ghost stories and monsters so this book was the combination of my two favorite things. I think it would work really well as a CGI episode with Season 5 feel to it. *Wink, wink, Brenner*

Re: Earliest Thomas Memories
I'd never really thought about that, but it for sure could! How cool would that be?
Re: Earliest Thomas Memories
One of my first video tapes was "Spooks and Surprises". Nice way to start, huh? The episodes and some faces scared the life out of me.

My first episode I watched was James and the Red Balloon on the James and the Red Balloon and Other Thomas Adventures US VHS when I was 5 years old. I love that episode still to this day.

Re: Earliest Thomas Memories
I remember having a lot of old VHS' when I was little, because my brother was already a big Thomas fan. But quickly after that came the time of the DVD's.
My earliest memories are those of the (VHS') first Bumper Special, Trust Thomas and other stories , Rock 'n' Roll and other Stories, Thomas and Stepney and other stories, the first Story and Song collection, and Thomas' Train and 17 other stories.
I don't exactly remember which were the first I watched, but probably the Season 4 ones, as they have my fondest memories.

Re: Earliest Thomas Memories
I remember watching either Old Iron or Dirty Objects with my sister when we were toddlers. All I remember of the episode was a runaway scene involving James.
I also vaguely remember seeing the ending scene in All at Sea, but I don't know when this was.

Re: Earliest Thomas Memories
I have no idea why to this day, but whenever the engines had a shocked face, I was scared and didn't want to see it... I have since gotten over it, but I had no idea why I did that when I was little. Don't get me wrong, I loved the VHS tapes i had, but to this day I have no idea why I did that

Re: Earliest Thomas Memories
When I was born I was given a Thomas balloon, I don't remember it but there are some pictures of me with it. Since then I have always had the little blue tank engine in my life. Some of my earliest memories are of watching the VHS Percy's Ghostly Trick and Other Adventures and playing with some ERTL Thomas characters.

Some of my earliest memories of Thomas was watching it on Nick Jr UK in around 2004/05. I don't remember what season though. I think it was Season 8.

Re: Earliest Thomas Memories
The very first episode I remember watching was "Thomas & Gordon", right back when I was very little.
I still remember the days when I saw Thomas on the Watercress Line.

Re: Earliest Thomas Memories
The very first thing for me I believe was me getting the Best Of Thomas VCR with Duke inside. My first VCR and engine.
Re: Earliest Thomas Memories
That's cool... the funny thing is, I literally cannot remember when I first started liking Thomas. All I remember is getting and playing with the wooden railway, and watching the VHS tapes at home, and that was it. No initial encounter if you will, it just sort of came in naturally. Part of it was probably the fact that I am on the autistic spectrum (see Thomas and Autism, a special relationship for more detail)

Re: Earliest Thomas Memories
I wish I knew what the first episode I ever watched was. I just know it was from Season 1-4. I've always been a fan ever since I can remember, it just became a part of my life. There's some photos when I was really small where I'm lying down in the middle of my My First Thomas circle set pushing the engines around, and these VHS tapes were just sitting on the shelf. No memories of buying them. I had a Thomas pillow, a small little soft fold-out bed chair, and a pyjama top which said "Good night Thomas" with a sleeping Thomas which I refused to take off! I have a really good memory which remembers many peculiar things, but my earliest Thomas moment isn't one of them.

Yes; I know that feeling; I can only wonder what my first Thomas encounter was

Re: Earliest Thomas Memories
My first TTTE memory was Thomas and the Jet Engine. I already had some wooden railway but I only remember that in photos. I just remember being in AWE of the models and of course, the EPIC story. As the DVD went on, there were more amazing stories, like Scaredy Engines, and Salty's Stormy Tale. I still consider these episodes my all-time favorites.

Re: Earliest Thomas Memories
Here's what I remember.
I was born around the time production started on TATMR. My very first Thomas products were the TOMY Activity Island and a Big Loader set. At the time, I had NO idea what TTTE was, and I didn't even care. Then, I collected Take Along and Motor Road and Rail back when they were still available, though I never had any track for the TA models.
Later, in around 2005, when YouTube was launched, I came across the fan works by users such as MOAB, TL476, Trainboy7, Sparkshot and Captain Punjab. In addition, I also found and watched episodes of the actual show, and discovered the Official Site (it was the 60th Anniversary at the time).
I even named my pet dog Gordon, though not after the TTTE character, since that was before I found the official site. I did, however, name him that after the high speeds at which he ran (as odd as that sounds). I have no idea where exactly my Thomas obsession came from, or how, but I do know that I've had it since a fairly young age.
And the rest is HiT-ory.
