Actually, "O the indignity" is one of the best things HiT brought to the show.

To be honest, I agree. It suits Gordon okay, even if it was a bit overblown.

I'm also okay with *Oh the indignity*. In fact, in my Thomas series, he says it quite a bit.

And he did say "the shame of it" a bit in a few RWS stories. I think it might be a bit of that come to life.
