Storytellers
Here we can talk about the men who brought the Railway Series to life, it's original storytellers!
Re: Storytellers
So is this thread for the Railway Series' narrators, or is it for the writers of the Railway Series (Wilbert and Christopher Awdry)? Got a little confused there.

Re: Storytellers
Were Thomas and Victoria and Thomas and his Friends ever narrated for audio books? It would be interesting to listen too. Ted Robbins isn't so well at the moment, unfortunately, but it would be nice to see them all completed.

No, they never were. As far as I know, Henry and the Express was the last one to be narrated.

He also narrated stories from Wilbert the Forest Engine, so that counts as the last one he narrated you see.

Re: Storytellers
If you're interested in hearing more, almost all narrations can be found on NewController01's YouTube channel! They're all excellent in their own ways!
Re: Storytellers
Now that I think about it, I had some of these audio narrator tapes and books as a kid... Can't remember who narrated, but in the books i had a thing for pointing out where pictures in the story did not come from the episode it was adapted from, lol

Re: Storytellers
A few years ago I watched almost all of NewController01's vids, and I really liked the narrations.
Re: Storytellers
NewController is how I read all Chris' stuff, especially for my adaptations.

Re: Storytellers
I'm currently making my way through his videos. My favourite so far is Willie Ruston, I find his avuncular grandfatherly voice to be very appropriate. I must admit, I find Johnny Morris' improvised train noises more distracting than anything else.

I've heard some of Rushton's narrations; I thought he did a good job.

Re: Storytellers
As far as I'm concerned, Johnny Morris just sounds too disinterested to be anything other than mediocre as a narrator.

Re: Storytellers
Really? I'll have to find some of his narrations and compare them to the others.
Speaking of which; who are we counting as "storytellers" in this thread. So far I've seen Johnny Morris and Willie Rushton mentioned, but were there more?

There are worse threads than that you know.
And where else will we discuss them?

Re: Storytellers
fair point.
Though maybe I am misinterpreting and I apologize; who else is considered a storyteller for TTTE?

Re: Storytellers
In this thread's case, only people who have narrated audiobooks, not the show's narrators.
