Simple Stories vs. Action Stories

Post by TheThomas5252 on Sat Jul 09, 2016 5:01 am

This thread is to talk about if the simple stories on Thomas and Friends are the best, or if that would go to the action stories. What's your honest opinion, please leave a comment below.

I don't think it even matters. Super Rescue is considered by most to be the best RS story and it is by no means simple. However, stories like Thomas and Bertie's Great Race and Thomas and Gordon are simple and remain popular today. Also, it's difficult to define a simple/complex story. Action has little to do with it.

I agree for the most part with what Toz said. I like action stories, crashes are always awesome ( Razz ), but I like nice simple stories as well - slice-of-life is a slice-of-goodness.

I like them both. Both types keep things varied, and if we only had one, that would get kind of old.

I think for the most part, episodes should be fairly simple, with a few action packed episodes here and there. Specials should definitely be more action packed, unless they're going for something like The Adventure Begins, but even still, there should be some action, like the chase scene.

I like both when executed properly of course.

Great Simple Story Examples:
-Edward and Gordon
-Bowled Out
-Thomas the Babysitter

Great Action Packed Story Examples:
-Escape
-Lady Hatt's Birthday Party
-A Friend in Need

I'm going with what other people saying - I think it's nice to have a bit of both per season as it really helps the overall variety per season, and each kind of story can be just as great and memorable as the other.

I think it is about the season as a whole, actually. Enough simple stories to keep it grounded in realism, but enough action stories to keep you interested.
