Post by luctheminecrafter on Tue Sep 15, 2015 10:55 pm

Here we can discuss the Guardian's two existing anti-Thomas articles, and any others.

You think Tracy's article is bad? Read the comments! People AGREE WITH HER!

And those people have obviously never seen or read Thomas. Never did the FAT CONTROLLER turn an ENGINE into a henhouse!

There's an article called "Toxic Thomas" that basically says the show is sexist. Why? Because she watched three bad episodes.

Re: Grumpy Parents Thread

Those articles made by Feminazi parents, but I do have one response

"Furthermore, there is a much better alternative out there for those of us whose children want to watch computer animated train programming.  On Chuggington, the trains have sincere friendships with one another.  They look out for each other.  They have positive mentorships with the humans and other trains, and lessons are taught through instruction and practice.  When the young trains, called “trainees,” earn “badges” in every episode, they take pride in completing the tasks necessary to earn the badge rather than regarding the badge itself as the main accomplishment.  Male trains predominate, but Koko is female, green, treated by everyone else as an equal, and granted as much screentime and character development as any of her male counterparts.  There is also a refreshing diversity of types of trains, and they work together to accomplish shared tasks."

First off:

*Engines *Engines *Engines *Engines *Engines *Engines *Engines *Engines

Second off: the reason all the Engines are treated equal is because they have no personality, think of it like this

If everyone was the same, you would be friends with everyone.

Since all the characters have no defining character traits everyone is going to like everyone,

And that brings me back to your other point

"the only female engines I can name off hand are Emily and Rosie, and they appear so rarely that I can’t begin to describe their personalities."

If you can't describe the personalities of them then describe the personalities of 1 chuggington character, that's one less character to define, but 10/10 you can't, this is teaching kids that everyone is the same, and you will like everybody, and everybody will like you. This will make their first school days much more of a struggle for both genders.

NITPICK TIME!!!

"Koko is female, green, treated by everyone else as an equal, and granted as much screentime and character development"

Percy has a lot of screen time mind you, also, the fact the Koko is green is irrelevant, in fact, Henry is green, and he is respected.

"They have positive mentorships with the humans and other trains"

And random totally realistic signal robots

"There is also a refreshing diversity of types of trains"

Does chuggington have a large amounts of steam and diesel AND have an electric engine, along with multiple seperate railways, some having steam and diesel? I can only count one steam engine I've seen from the promotional pictures I pulled up, and no electric.

And that was 1 section of the article, I could make much more with the rest. Also, you can use this part of my rant in your rant if you credit me for it.

Those parents must of never had the nostalgic feel of and never saw the Classic Series episodes. The problem is Seasons 8-16 were made so poorly and the Classic episodes sadly don't air on TV anymore. If you meet someone that hates Thomas they must of suffered from the torture of Seasons 8-16.

Or maybe they watched the Classics and thought the same thing. It's not always S8-16. And nostalgia is irrelevant.

What I don't understand is when some people think the models are creepy, but how? They don't look like scary clown faces or anything similar to that.

How spooky that the eyes move but not the face! Oh, please...

EDIT: Left a comment on that "Toxic Thomas" one. Hopefully, the likes of Marion will open her mind.

I was looking at The Adventure Begins Itunes page and when looking through the reviews, i found this:

Be Advised: New Voices

by Handsome Paladin
Animation is notorious for paying their actors meagerly. Hit Entertainment ought to take a page from the Simpsons playbook and pony up some cash to protect their hundred million dollar a year moneymaker. Instead, they refused to pay the guy whose voice has become inextricable with Thomas a living wage. Now the toys will all sound different, etc. And the new voices are simply not up to snuff. Ugh. It makes no sense and feels like a betrayal. My 3-year old prefers the other films. So does my 2-year old. So does my wife. And so do I!

Seriously??? Ranking a film down because of the new voices? It's ridiculous.

What toys? Talking toys?

Or, you could pretend Thomas's voice is changing because he's getting older. Surely Stephen didn't sound like he does now when he was at Rainhill?

Not all parents are the best in English. Maybe English isn't their first language.

Or they're simply bad at writing. All 6 of my LucRants as of yet have pointed out bad spelling or grammar, so it's not that crazy.
